The model will be available in two versions, both powered by a 17hp motor: Urban and Technic. In higher specification Technic trim it will cost £7,400. In Europe the tax-paid prices for these models will start from €7,690 and €8,490 respectively.

The monthly battery lease cost for both versions will be £40 including VAT for a 36 month/4,500 miles per year agreement. In Europe, the cost will be €45-49/month depending on the model.

The battery can be fully charged in three and a half hours using a domestic electrical supply via a spiral cable stowed behind a flap at the front. It has an operational range of up to 62 miles (100km), depending on driving conditions.

The model can hold two occupants, who sit one behind the other – Renault says it offers greater safety compared with a two-wheeled vehicle.

The Twizy has also been designed to be agile around town due to its ultra-compact dimensions, which also enable easy parking.

Customers can now pre-reserve their Twizy online at www.renault-ze.com. This requires a £20 (€20 in Europe) deposit via a secure online payment module. Customers who pre-reserve their Twizy will be contacted on a priority basis when the car goes on sale with a view to confirming their order.
