Peugeot announces Partner Electric van

By / 12 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Based on the recently-facelifted conventionally-powered Partner, the electric version uses a 67bhp electric motor co-developed with Mitsubishi Motors , similar to the one which powers the C-Zero. Two lithium-ion batteries are fitted either side of the rear axle, offering a range of 105 miles to a full charge.

Recharging can be done through a port on the front wing, and takes between six and nine hours. Alternately, the fast charge port fitted under what would normally be the fuel filler flap, allows 80% capacity in under 30 minutes.

In the cabin, a consumption/recovery indicator replaces the rev counter on the dashboard,  there’s an additional gauge showing how much electricity is being used by on-board systems, while the trip counter is configured to show remaining range and average energy consumption in kilowatt-hours. Its heating system is fully electric, and features an eco mode to reduce energy consumption.

The Partner Electric is otherwise very similar to the conventionally powered version. There are two wheelbases available, with a load volume of up to 3m3,  180mm in length, and with a 685kg maximum payload.

Sales are expected to begin in the second quarter of 2013, and the Partner Electric should be eligible for the Plug-in Van grant, offering 20% or up to £8,000 off the purchase price.
