Parking ticket management website launched for fleet operators

By / 14 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Located at www.fleetpcnmanager.co.uk, the site has been developed by NMPT Ltd which says it has had extensive first-hand experience of the challenges faced by fleet operators, having assisted such firms over the past six years on a consultancy basis.

According to the firm, around half of all parking tickets issued are to vehicle operators who are often lawfully engaged in unloading or delivering goods. At the worst end of the scale the regime has resulted in some operators racking up fines totalling a staggering £1 million per year.

Although recent non-statutory guidance to local authorities on loading and unloading definitions was introduced alongside the Traffic Management Act 2004, NMPT Ltd says that these changes don’t seem to have filtered through to where it matters.

Kevin Morrison, Fleetpcnmanager’s managing director, said: 'For too long UK fleet operators have suffered at the hands of overzealous wardens and outsourced parking regimes based on profit. The industry has unfairly penalised legitimate fleet businesses since parking enforcement was decriminalised. Our web-based system is designed to make it as easy as possible for fleet managers to address this problem.'

The software includes functionality such as:
• Real-time dashboard with a familiar traffic light visual layout,
• Appeal module that can generate an unlimited number of customised appeal letters
• SMS and email alerts so fleet managers never miss payment deadlines or incur unnecessary escalation costs
• A comprehensive reporting module to track key performance indicators
• An online 75-page knowledgebase that addresses the key issues faced by vehicle operators.

Drivers also have the ability to remotely upload photos and written evidence from a mobile phone to the Fleetpcnmanager system.

The appeal module currently covers Penalty Charge Notices for standard parking contraventions. The company says its aim is to incorporate all Penalty Charge contraventions including bus lanes, moving traffic offences and yellow box junctions onto the system within the next four months.

In addition, NMPT Ltd offers the option of a fully outsourced solution for businesses that prefer a hands-off approach to the administration of their tickets.
