While the proportions of the new model remain the same as the first generation CLS from 2003, Mercedes says that everything else is different, including the front design, which is reminiscent of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG and features a revised radiator grille as well as new LED headlamps that feature a total of 71 LEDS.

Inside, Mercedes promises 'straightforward elegance with innovative details and handcrafted perfection', including stitched seat covers and the sewn covering for the dashboard, with materials including satin and high-gloss finishes on the metal surfaces.

Details include a wrap-around cockpit and central display that's been integrated into the upper part of the instrument panel. There's also a wide variety of individualisation options, with five interior colours, five trim designs and also three qualities of leather available to choose from. Customers can also choose between three exclusive types of wood: high-gloss brown burr walnut, high-gloss black ash and satin-finish light-brown poplar.
