Vehicle rental firm adopts national tyre servicing as part of growth plans
Although the Grantham-based company's long-term contract hire fleet is spread nationwide, tyres were previously being serviced by a host of local providers. Now the plan is to double the fleet size from 150 to 220 vans over the next six months, with a view to reaching 300 vehicles within the next three years. And adopting a one-stop, national approach to tyre servicing is a key next step, says operations director Dominic McAteer.
'Firstly, we want to save time,' said Mr McAteer. 'We've been spending hours wading through paperwork from a multitude of different suppliers. We can't afford those hours with the fleet expanding.
'Another reason is profile. Choosing one comprehensive national tyre supplier seems to fit the profile of a national company better. I've worked with ATS Euromaster in a previous job role, and had no hesitation in going back.
ATS Euromaster will supply, fit and service Premier Vehicle Rental's fleet with Avon tyres on a fixed-term contract for the next three years, using the combined strength of its nationwide centre network supported by a fleet of nearly 1,000 mobile service vans. Monthly fleet inspections and a 24-hour roadside rapid-response service for tyre-related breakdowns are included in the contract.
'We pride ourselves on the quality of our vehicles, and ATS Euromaster's appointment and ongoing support for our fleet will reflect that quality,' added Mr McAteer.
