New V60 designed to be best-driving Volvo ever produced

By / 14 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Based on the new S60 executive saloon, the V60 brings increased load space and practicality to the A4 and 3 Series rival.

Due to go on sale this autumn, the V60 echoes the trim and engine options of its saloon stablemate, with petrol units ranging from 150 to 304bhp, and two five-cylinder turbodiesels offering 163 or 205bhp.

A low-emission DRIVe diesel and a T5 turbo petrol will arrive next year.

As with the S60, Volvo has paid particular attention to driving dynamics with the V60, aiming for it to be the best-driving Volvo ever produced. As a result, drivers can choose between two chassis – Dynamic and standard – while options include the Four-C active chassis.

Naturally, safety is high on the agenda, with the City Safety active safety system fitted as standard. This will slow the car to a stop if it detects an object in the way and the driver does not take action.

Options include a driver alert, which will sound an alarm to warn tired or distracted drivers, lane departure warning, the Blind Spot Information System and active Xenon headlights.

Inside, the rear seat is split 40/20/40 while the front passenger seat can be folded flat to increase carrying capacity.
