Navman Wireless launches fleet-driver monitoring facility

By / 12 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The new Smart Telematics system, which is powered by Navman’s vehicle-tracking platform OnlineAVL, has been designed to provide fleet managers with critical real time data about vehicle and driver behaviour and will enable businesses to make informed decisions that can help reduce fuel consumption, extend equipment life, cut carbon emissions and improve driver safety.

The system also has the benefit of complete vehicle adaptability. It can be installed on HGV, LGV, vans and cars and works by taking live data from the engine, analysing it and sending it to fleet managers in an easy to understand "user friendly" format.

Steve Blackburn, European vice president of Navman Wireless, said: 'We are committed to advancing technology to make data more valuable and relevant. Smart Telematics has been designed to ensure data can be easily integrated into daily business life, the key to which is presenting it in a useable format.

'Many fleet managers are using telematics to carefully monitor the driving habits of their drivers, but unless data is truly dynamic, clearly presented and immediately useful, it may not be easy to see where improvements can be made. An effective telematics platform means you don’t have to read through pages of information to see the benefits,' he added.
