Mycompanyfleet enhances grey fleet solution with new journey logger

By / 7 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The new functionality works through any G3-enabled mobile phone and allows drivers to independently log all business trips and update their mileage claims through their mobile phone.

In addition, by logging on to the Driver Self-Serve system in this way, drivers can also be tracked and their location verified through their phone, replacing the need for alternative in-vehicle telematics or tracking systems.

In logging on to a driver page within Driver Self-Serve, drivers have two options; they can log on and have the entire journey tracked and recorded, or they can log on at a specific start point and then off again at a stop point.

For drivers, the new enhancement provides independent and automatic corroboration of each business journey and automatically updates mileage records, thus making the process of submitting monthly mileage claims faster and less prone to error.

It also provides additional security for fleet managers in that it removes the practice of 'rounding up' that some drivers might employ on their journeys, and also eradicates the opportunity for fraudulent or excessive claims. The whereabouts of drivers can be verified at all times, and drivers can be re-routed to different locations should the need arise.

Andrew Leech, Mycompanyfleet business manager, said: 'This new enhancement to Driver Self-Serve allows drivers to log on to the system through their mobile phone and tracks all their business journeys, providing automatic and totally accurate updates to their business mileage records.

'At the same time, it has the added benefit for fleet managers of removing any ambiguities that may arise, providing totally authenticated mileage records of all business journeys and pinpointing the whereabouts of drivers at any one time.'
