Martin Burke to leave role as Skoda UK head of fleet

By / 11 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Burke joined the carmaker in 2005 as the company’s head of fleet sales and has built Skoda Business Sales into a significant division. Fleet registrations have soared from 8,500 in 2004 to 23,524 in 2012, and the brand now boasts a record market share of 2.3%.

In addition, Skoda has increased the number of fleet sales managers to ensure complete coverage of the UK and Northern Ireland, and introduced its “Fit for Fleet” programme, which focuses on training and development for specialist retailers who are concentrating on growing fleet sales.

Burke commented: ‘I have had a hugely satisfying time over the last eight years in building a brand-focused fleet team and fully establishing our Skoda products as “fit for purpose” fleet vehicles to the marketplace.

‘We are now taken seriously as a credible fleet player in the industry and have built excellent and sustainable customer relationships. The success story will most definitely continue with the forthcoming introduction of the new Octavia, which I firmly believe will become the “next company car of choice”.’

Alasdair Stewart, Skoda UK brand director, commented: ‘Martin has made an exceptional contribution to the development of our fleet business. He’s built a very strong team that is widely recognised and appreciated throughout the industry, and helped further establish Skoda with fleet operators as a brand that delivers great quality cars at outstanding value for money.

‘All of us at Skoda UK would like to thank Martin for many years of excellent service and wish him all the best in his new role.’

Burke’s replacement as head of fleet sales will be announced in due course.
