The RoadScan PRO VEDR is said to offer fleets a low-cost, affordable solution to monitor driving behaviour, abuse of their vehicles and journeys their vehicles have made along with video verification of the facts should an incident or accident occur. It also provides a management tool for company driver training, health and safety programmes and cost reductions.

The RoadScan features a forward-facing camera to record accidents and also provide vehicle speed and location information, enabling fleet managers to check for deviations, unlogged stops and breaks. The device continuously records on a 30-second loop and captures and saves 15 seconds before and 15 seconds after it is triggered by a driving event. It can also be programmed in continuous record and save mode, which is beneficial for driver / training reviews.
 
According to the makers of RoadScan, it can help improve driving behaviour, leading to substantial savings in fuel bills, and can also be used to dispute fraudulent accident claims. RoadScan’s video recordings are said to be accepted by insurance companies, and will verify and witness accidents.
 
The device features a GPS module providing speed, map location, event plotting and historic tracking of routes taken shown on Google Maps, stamping the date and time of each stage of the journey. The VGA 640×480 pixel screen records 24x frames per second and is suitable for night-time driving. Recordings are downloaded from the SD memory card to the RoadScan PC viewing application, providing an historical record of all journeys. The PRO has been designed to be tamper proof and therefore cannot be reset by the driver.
