Housing association turns to vehicle tracking to enhance efficiencies

By / 13 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Having identified that the technology could significantly increase the efficiency of its fleet, the housing association put a requirement for vehicle tracking out to tender and opted for a deal with Navman Wireless.

Once installed, the Navman Wireless system will help the organisation cut fuel usage and improve its service to tenants who occupy more than 9,000 homes throughout the Trafford area.

'The traditional complexities involved in keeping track and organising the routes of a large number of vehicles have often hindered our ability to operate as efficiently and effectively as we’d like,' said Steve Coakley, procurement & fleet co-ordinator, Trafford Housing Trust.

'With tracking technology though, we’ll be able to monitor the real time movements of our fleet on the online software, ensuring we’re getting the right maintenance vehicle to the right job as quickly as possible.'

In addition to reducing fuel bills through better vehicle distribution, tracking will give the affordable housing provider insights into its fleet with information such as vehicle speeds, maintenance reports and live traffic data.

'When we decided to press ahead with plans to install tracking, we were looking for an experienced supplier that offered a comprehensive package at a competitive price and that’s exactly what we found with Navman Wireless,' concluded Mr Coakley.
