Grounds maintenance business invests in TRACKER's telematics

By / 12 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

Blue Sky Development & Regeneration was established by the charity Groundwork Thames Valley. It was set up to give paid work to people coming out of prison, enabling them to move successfully into long-term employment. Blue Sky has employed nearly 500 ex-offenders and carries out top quality grounds maintenance under contract to organisations in the private and public sectors.

‘TRACKER Fleet is bringing us fuel savings of £400 per month, as well as reducing our annual insurance premiums by as much as £50 per van.  These savings are invaluable for a not-for-profit company like ours,’ explained Steve Finn, of Blue Sky Development & Regeneration. ‘TRACKER’s telematics also helps us improve the efficiency across our workforce, helping us meet our Duty of Care by monitoring driving times and staff safely.

‘TRACKER’s telematics has become an integral part of our fleet management, providing detailed information on speeding, driver hours, mileage and journey times. All this helps us make real savings and look after our drivers,’ he added.

TRACKER Fleet Management reports real time information about the usage of vehicles, such as engine running hours, and allows Blue Sky to set its own Key Performance Indicators. The system puts Blue Sky firmly in control of their fleet, as well as helping to monitor driver performance to ensure safe and efficient use of the workforce. TRACKER Fleet even offers battery powered modules to ensure assets which have no built-in power supply, such as mobile units and trailers, can be monitored.

Stephen Doran, managing director of TRACKER added: ‘We work closely with clients to ensure they get the best from TRACKER Fleet, which can be tailored to meet their specific needs. Blue Sky operates a fairly small fleet, but as a not-for-profit organisation they need to keep a keen eye on costs and telematics is already helping them save on fuel, while looking after the efficiency and safety of their fleet and drivers. We will be working in partnership with Blue Sky to maximise the benefits our telematics solution can bring to its organisation.’
