GENEVA: Dacia to be launched in UK

By / 14 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The latest model brings the Dacia line-up to a total of six models that are intended to appeal to a wide cross-section of drivers.

However, typically the brand has appealed to thrifty drivers – new Duster will sell from €11,900 in two-wheel drive and €14,000 in four-wheel drive in Europe.

Duster is built off the low-cost Logan platform and right-hand drive production has now been confirmed for 2012. Renault also says that the next generation of Logan models will all be engineered for right-hand drive and will arrive from around 2013. The carmaker has said that initial right-hand drive models will be built in Romania before a longer-term decision is made.

In the UK, Dacia will be sold through Renault dealers with a "Dacia store" in the corner of a showroom or, where justified, a stand-alone showroom sharing the workshop and office functions with the Renault dealer.

Commenting on the news, Renault UK's managing director, Roland Bouchara, said: 'We've been watching Dacia's remarkable success closely over the last few years, so naturally I'm thrilled that we'll soon be able to start showing the British public what all the fuss has been about across the water. With value-for-money, downsizing, fuel economy and emissions all becoming increasingly important, we want to show that Dacia can appeal to the head, the heart and the wallet.'

Although Renault says that it will announce further details regarding Dacia's arrival in the UK, including pricing and dealer network, at a later date, customers wishing to be kept abreast of all the latest developments in the lead-up to launch can visit www.daciacars.co.uk.
