AP Systems Ltd, based out of Kilkenny, selected FleetMatics to deliver its web-based GPS monitoring solution, which has recently been upgraded with FleetMatics 8.0, which includes features such as a mobile application, dashboard trends and driver sScorecards.

The firm's administrator Mary Fitzpatrick added: 'We upgraded to FleetMatics 8.0 last week and gained instant access to previous months' performance and trending for idling, speeding, and overall productivity. We can see who's been speeding the most, idling the most, and it has made us aware of who's completing a full-day's work and what problems still need to be addressed.

'"The Daily Reports" show all stops made by fleet vehicles, help verify time sheets, and aid in the resolution of disputes that may occur with a customer. In addition, we greatly appreciate the Speeding and Idling Alerts that facilitated in reducing the amount of time engineers were idling, which wastes fuel. For example, in the cold weather, they were leaving their engines on and idling for 20 minutes each morning. With seven engineers, that's almost 12 hours a week of idling that has pretty much stopped now,' concluded Ms Fitzpatrick.
