Fleet software to give decision-makers an edge in managing CO2 emissions and fuel usage

By / 13 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The new functionality has been developed specifically to help fleet managers who want to target reductions in carbon emissions in line with a corporate sustainability or environmental programme.

The new development identifies company drivers who have met company fuel usage and carbon emissions targets and automatically sends emails thanking them for their efforts. It also identifies those who are constantly missing targets and asks them to improve their performance.

At the same time, these results can be displayed on the fleet manager’s dashboard within FleetAcumen to identify those drivers who have been thanked and those that have been warned, and can be split by department and/or division.

Mycompanyfleet product development manager, Paul Jackson (Inset), said: ‘This is not Big Brother, it is just plain commonsense in helping meet emissions and fuel price targets. We analyse fuel data for a given period and proactively send out messages to employees who have achieved acceptable emissions and fuel costs, as well as warning heavy footed drivers.

‘We had initially developed this with one major fleet customer, but have now taken the decision to make it generally available as part of the wider FleetAcumen offering.’

To help fleet managers identify the drivers involved, Mycompanyfleet software can display the data graphically through exception reporting and highly visual graphs to highlight those areas in need of attention.

FleetAcumen has a number of configurable options which flag up when exceptions occur, such as the purchase of fuel over a certain limit. These also include alerts to show when business mileages have been exceeded, or when fuel is being purchased without suitable authority levels.

‘Our systems have great reporting capabilities and are highly configurable. Fleet managers can select from a number of alerts that they can enable within the system to tell them when exceptions have occurred’, he added.
