Facelifted Toyota Yaris priced from £12,495

Toyota has announced prices and specifications for the facelifted Toyota Yaris.

The 2017 Toyota Yaris introduces sharper styling, more driver assistance tech and a new 1.5-litre engine.

Priced from £12,495 – up from £11,970 – and on sale now, the 2017 model – which is available in five-door version only – introduces a new look along with revised trim levels that bring extra driver safety assists and the debut of a new 1.5-litre petrol engine.

The new 110bhp unit replaces the previous 98bhp 1.33-litre engine and brings improved power and economy with emissions from 109g/km and combined fuel consumption starting at 56.5mpg. This compares to 114g/km and 57.6mpg for the outgoing model. The engine is also available in hybrid form and is joined by the existing 1.0-litre VVT-i.

Revised trim levels now cover Active, Icon, Icon Tech, Design, Bi-tone and Excel. The entry-level Active model is available with both the 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre hybrid units and brings the Toyota Safety Sense package of driver safety assistance features as standard along with rain-sensing windscreen wipers, power front windows, Bluetooth and a six-speaker audio system. Hybrid models additionally feature automatic air con and projector headlamps.

Icon models add new 15-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, air con and a 4.2-inch colour TFT multi-information screen. They are also equipped with the Toyota Touch 2 touchscreen-controlled multimedia system, rear-view camera while Road Sign Assist joins the Toyota Safety Sense features are expanded to include Road Sign Assist.

The new Icon Tech grade adds Toyota Touch 2 with Go, with satellite navigation and access to online services, and front parking sensors.

Design grade introduces 16-inch alloys with a contrast black and machined-face finish, plus a honeycomb mesh grille, piano black side mouldings, rear privacy glass and a rear spoiler, while Bi-tone – previously an option for Design models – brings contrasting colour options inside and out along with power rear windows, LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights to the Design specification.

At the top of the range, the Excel grade brings exterior elements including new 16-inch alloys, a rear spoiler and chrome side sills, LED front and rear lights – with automatic dusk-sensing function for the headlights, automatic air con and part-leather and Alcantara seat upholstery

Prices for the new model start from £12,495 for the 1.0-litre and £15,995 for the 1.5-litre hybrid, both in Active trim. The non-hybrid 1.5-litre unit, which is available from the Icon trim upwards, is priced from £15,295.
