EV workshop to explore how fleets can adopt technology

Open to fleet managers, the event on Thursday November 25th, 9am-1pm, at is part of the Growth Project Logistics 2 programme, which helps North-East companies adopt new technologies and ideas to become greener and more efficient.

Paul Robson, managing director of the NAC Group, said: 'There is no doubt that electric vehicles are going to play a major role in the future of logistics and transport.

'This event is a great opportunity for any company engaged in logistics to learn about the bottom line benefits that this green technology in vans and trucks can provide.'

Smith Electric will deliver a presentation on how to integrate EVs into a fleet, including the cost justification and technical requirements. Visitors will have the opportunity to test drive a demonstration vehicle, tour the production lines and meet one to one with suppliers of fleet tracking systems.

The Growth Project Logistics 2, which is delivered by NAC, is funded through One North East Single Programme and the European Regional Development Fund (2007-2013) ERDF helping all kinds of companies to reduce costs and increase turnover.

The open day takes place on Thursday 25 November, 9am-1pm, at Smith Electric Vehicles, Vigo Centre, Birtley Road, Washington. Places are limited to two per company and must be booked in advance. To reserve a place, visit: www.growthlogistics2.co.uk/events
