Chancellor George Osborne announced the date of the Budget, which is to take place exactly six weeks after the creation of the new coalition Government.

He has also said that the Government will be slashing £6 billion off of the UK's £152 billion deficit, adding that failure to tackle the record deficit would be 'disastrous'.
