E-Class Estate gains 109g/km entry-level diesel
Mercedes has launched new engines for the E-Class Estate and GLC Coupé, including a new entry-level 109g/km diesel for the estate.
The E 200 d, E 350 d and E 43 have been added to the E-Class Estate range
Slotting in under the £38,230 four-cylinder E 220 d in the launch line-up, the 148bhp 200 d delivers 65.7 mpg on the combined cycle and is priced from £36,735.
Mercedes has also launched a 3.0-litre V6 E 350 d, which produces 254bhp while delivering up to 48.7mpg and emitting 140g/km of CO2.
The range also gains the Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC Estate, which features a biturbo 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine which generates 396bhp – enabling it to reach 62 mph from standstill in 4.7 seconds.
The E 350 d SE is priced from £47,255, while the Mercedes-AMG E 43 costs £58,290.
Other changes see the E 220 d Saloon made available with 4MATIC four-wheel drive– it’s priced from £37,730 – £1,500 over the rear-wheel drive 220 d. It accelerates from 0 to 62mph in 7.5 seconds, and has rear-biased torque distribution of 45:55.
The E-Class Estate has also been updated with an optional rear-facing folding bench seat to add seven-seat versatility. Priced at £1,250, this provides an extra rear-facing two Artico-covered seats – which are specifically designed for use by children under 115cm in height – and is stored under the load compartment floor when not in use. An Easy-Pack load securing kit can be specified for an additional £295.
Mercedes has also expanded the GLC Coupé range with a 254bhp V6 3.0-litre diesel. The GLC 350 d 4MATIC Coupé can sprint from 0 to 62mph in 6.2 seconds, emits 161g/km of CO2 and delivers up to 47.1mpg on the combined cycle. It is available from £47,135.
The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé can now be ordered from £50,960. Its bi-turbo 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine produces 362bhp, giving a 0-62mph time of 4.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.
First deliveries of the E 200 d Estate, E 350 d Estate, E 43 4MATIC Estate, GLC 350 d 4MATIC Coupé and GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé are expected in December.
