CLM & AGA cook up vehicle deal

By / 13 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The firm, which is synonymous with the AGA kitchen cooker, has taken delivery of the first batch of replacement vehicles in the form of 62 Ford Transit Connect 230 LWB High Roof TDCI 110PS models, which replaced 80% of its fleet in one go.

CLM sourced the new vehicles after providing comparable manufacturer quotes that showed that Transit Connects were still the most cost-effective option. By applying competitive tendering to the contract hire funding CLM was able to source higher-specified vehicles for a similar price. The vehicles will be used by service engineers to carry out essential service work all round the country.

The latest additions to the vehicle fleet are four specially modified Renault Master vans, complete with Dhollandia tail-lifts capable of bearing the weight of the half-tonne cooker – these will be used by installation engineers fitting the appliances in customers' homes. Here, AGA Rangemaster selected the specification while CLM co-ordinated the modifications.

Darryl Hudson, head of customer service for AGA at AGA Rangemaster, which also includes household brands such as Rayburn, La Cornue and Fired Earth in its portfolio, said that the company is pleased with its new Master vans and is looking to place another 18 on order for next year.

He added: 'The service we receive from CLM is first rate and we have regular update meetings which are designed to go over issues that have arisen, and look for further opportunities to save on cost and improve system efficiency and process.

'These meetings are really productive, with very few issues to resolve at all, while under the watch of our account manager, Tracy Bradley, all problems have disappeared. We see CLM as a really positive and productive supplier,' Hudson said.
