Burnt Tree in £14 million fleet expansion

By / 14 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The Burnt Tree Group has invested £14 million in its fleet with the delivery of 800 new vehicles in the next eight weeks, taking its total fleet size to more than 9,000 vehicles.

In total, the group says, that takes its investment in the last three years to almost £120 million.

Some of the vehicles, from the likes of Vauxhall, Ford, Citroen and Volkswagen, will replace existing vehicles which have come to the end of their life cycle. However more than half are additional vehicles, which the company says is indicative of its ability to weather the recent downturn and to grow in the future.

Chief executive Richard Metcalfe said: ‘Our utilisation figures remain very buoyant and are currently running at an all time high for the company. We are continuing on our strategy for growing the business, but haven’t been afraid to stand back and make difficult decisions where necessary.’

Although Burnt Tree is reporting some sectors such as the construction industry remain relatively stagnant they are seeing signs of recovery.  However their core success over the last 12 months has come from the business to business sector.
