Brake launches international online road safety library

By / 14 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The purpose of the Road Safety Library is to share research and best practice, helping organisations develop and deliver effective interventions to prevent deaths and injuries on roads.

Information is available across the site on a wide variety of topics, from driver distraction, to speed enforcement, to fleet safety. The three main sections of the site will focus on:

• A research library full of up to date research, data and reports on a range of road safety topics;
• Important and innovative road safety initiatives by governments, including international case studies;
• Education schemes from various agencies worldwide.

Julie Townsend, deputy chief executive at Brake, said: 'Road safety professionals across the world are working on a huge range of initiatives to make roads safer. It’s so important to share research, information and best practice so we’re learning from one another and we’re well informed about what’s likely to be the best approach in tackling different issues. The Road Safety Library is an easy-to-use, free resource that professionals can use to access a broad range of information – helping them to be as effective as possible in preventing road deaths and injuries.'

The Road Safety Library replaces the Road Safety Exchange, an online information service that was previously only available to subscribers of Brake’s Road and Fleet Safety Forums.

The new Road Safety Library is accessible at www.roadsafetylibrary.org.
