Better Place becomes charge point partner for Holden Volt

By / 12 years ago / Uncategorised / No Comments

Similar to the partnership Vauxhall has with British Gas for Ampera in the UK, Better Place will develop a range of membership packages, including the installation of Charge Spots at home or work with ongoing management and 24-hour customer care.

Holden’s 49 Volt dealers, located in urban areas across Australia, will get Charge Spots for their demonstrator vehicles which are due to arrive in the last quarter of 2012. All units are supplied by government-certificated renewable energy.

Holden Energy and Environment Director, Richard Marshall said: ‘While the Volt is not restricted in range compared to other standard electric vehicles, we do expect that drivers will prefer to drive on battery only wherever possible.

‘A Volt can take less than 6 hours to charge using a 240V 10A charge through a regular household outlet. Customers who choose to install a Better Place Charge Spot can charge their Volt in under four. This option is likely to be popular with fleets who want to run their Volts predominantly on the initial battery charge.’
