Bad weather pushes up demand for Alliance Asset Management

The company is also forecasting that demand will continue to increase as fleets look for a partner to meet their day-to-day business needs.

Alliance Asset Management offers a number of services including vehicle funding and defleet and remarketing services across the fleet industry.

However, it is the company's rental and fleet management services that are particularly being called upon due to the recent bad weather.

With a backlog building of vehicles requiring repair and journeys being postponed, coupled with a shortage of vehicles for hire, many of Britain's rental companies have been forced to prioritise customer requirements. Consequently, Alliance Asset Management says it has been answering "cries for help", helped by rental supply agreements with a number of national and regional rental providers.

Vincent St Claire, managing director of the Cambridgeshire-based business, said: 'Fleets have been looking for a fully managed fleet management service, including vehicle rental supply, and as a result they have been contacting Alliance and we have sourced vehicles from the most appropriate supplier.'

Other services have included assisting customers in getting their vehicles repaired as well as meeting their more general rental requirements. Alliance Asset Management has also purchased a handful of 4x4s to help customers in urgent need of vehicles in the bad weather at a time when rental availability had dried up.

Mr St Claire added: 'Our ability to help new and existing customers through the weather-induced "crisis" will, we believe, result in more organisations looking to Alliance to deliver an increasing range of fleet solutions to them.'
