Alphabet has appointed Darren Harnett to its Affinity Partnerships team as intermediary manager

Harnett brings a wealth of knowledge on the UK fleet market, as well as having direct experience of Alphabet’s 7,500 vehicle Intermediary channel and broad product portfolio.

He joins Alphabet from CLM Fleet Management where he served as client relationship manager for four years, following previous roles within the leasing industry focused on the SME market.

In his new role, he will be responsible for managing some of Alphabet’s largest clients, as well as working in close partnership with their established intermediary partners.

Harnett’s remit is to develop strong strategic and commercial relationships with the UK’s leading third-party fleet management providers to meet the business travel and mobility requirements of Alphabet’s customers and drivers.

He commented: “In previous roles within the industry, I have enjoyed working alongside Alphabet so I am excited to be joining the Intermediary team here. I am a strong believer in Alphabet’s ethos and forward-thinking approach, especially the laser focus on the customer and breadth of business mobility solutions we offer. I’m looking forward to supporting our Intermediary partners on both a strategic and day-to-day level in order to take those relationships to new heights.”

Oliver Stevenson, head of affinity partnerships at Alphabet, added: “Positive relationships, sustainable long term partnerships and creative collaborations are the key areas of focus for the Intermediary team as we work to support Alphabet’s new approach to this business channel. Darren’s depth of knowledge, connections and industry experience will be key to pushing the Intermediary team onwards and upwards. He will be the eyes and ears of the customer for us and provides the crucial interface between our Intermediary customers and the business. Darren will play a vital role for us in the delivery of real world business mobility solutions and peerless customer experience for our customers in this diverse business channel.”
