Alphabet appointed to Ambulance Vehicle Supply Framework
The appointment forms part of a multiple supplier contract, which runs to December 2015. The tendering exercise was completed on behalf of West Midlands, East Midlands, East of England and South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trusts, with the resulting framework available for use by all NHS Ambulance Services and other eligible Trusts.
Alphabet’s head of public sector, Clive Buhagiar, commented: ‘Our relationship with the public sector goes back more than 20 years, firstly as Appleyard then ING Car Lease. As well as managing relationships directly with local and central government and other publicly-funded organisations, we have been part of the GPSframework (formerly a Buying Solutions / NHS PASA agreement), the Central Buying Consortium and other consortia since their inception in the 1990s.’
He continued: ‘The introduction of the Ambulance Vehicle Supply Framework is good news for the NHS, as it will allow the Trusts to reduce the timescales involved with separate OJEU tendering and ensure best pricing when it comes to the contract hire of vehicles. Trusts will be able to come directly to the Alphabet team with their needs and benefit from decades of health sector fleet and rapid response vehicle expertise. Frameworks such as this really help to support the management of fleets in the public sector – ensuring that schemes are efficient to run and that financial risk is reduced for all parties.’
Alongside contract hire services, Alphabet supplies in-depth consultation focused on reducing cost, risk and administration within the fleet management process. The fleet management company also offers a wide range of complementary services, which allow the customer to select the model most appropriate to their needs – from salary sacrifice to telematics, insurance to logistics and risk management.
