AFR rate freeze re-emphasises need for fuel claims review

By / 11 years ago / Latest News / No Comments

The latest rates, used to reimburse company car drivers for corporate mileage, are effective from 1 December and valid for three months.

Petrol and diesel rates have been frozen for the last six months now, leading one mileage audit firm to already issue advice to fleets to reconsider their fuel claims policy.

Paul Jackson of TMC said that firms should bear in mind that AFRs are only meant to be a convenient guideline and that many fleets are finding it better in practice to settle claims on an actual cost basis.

The latest AFR rates are:

Petrol:

1400cc or less 15p

1401cc to 2000cc 18p

Over 2000cc 26p

Diesel:

1600cc or less 12p

1601cc to 2000cc 15p

Over 2000cc 18p

LPG:

1400cc or less 11p

1401cc to 2000cc 13p

Over 2000cc 18p
