Driving everything from a Volkswagen Polo 1.2 BlueMotion to a Megane Renaultsport 250, this year's entrants – including our very own Fleet World editor Steve Moody and editor-at-large Ken Rogers – will be putting both their eco-driving credentials and those of the vehicles to the test over a 400-mile round route from Stratford upon Avon. 

As usual there'll be two awards – one for the Best Outright Fuel Consumption and the other for the Best Percentage Improvement. 

Unlike other motoring races, there's no screeching past the chequered flag at the end or a triumphant, champagne-soaked prizegiving event on the podium but a rather painstaking process of measuring the fuel used in the cars to work out their average mpg and generate meticulous results.
