The investment comes less than a year since Manheim Auctions started operations at Bruntingthorpe and will create a dedicated state-of-the-art 56,000 sq. ft indoor auction centre with undercover storage for 300 vehicles.

The new facility, which is expected to become operational early next year, will combine both online and physical remarketing. In the meantime, Manheim Auctions will continue to operate from the existing 30,000 sq.ft. facility within the Bruntingthorpe site.

Mike Pilkington, managing director, Manheim Remarketing, added: 'The £2 million investment will enable the construction of a new state-of-the-art mezzanine area above the auction lanes, providing unparalleled viewing access for buyers in addition to a restaurant, a lounge area and business meeting facilities. I am confident that the £2 million investment will further reinforce the reputations of both Bruntingthorpe and Manheim Remarketing in the years to come.'

Manheim has also said that the auction programme at Bruntingthorpe will expand during 2011 with regular sales on behalf of manufacturers and fleet and leasing companies, covering the full range of cars, vans and trucks.
